Truro’s Eastern Park and Ride was fully opened to the public in October. In addition to extensive earthworks, highway works included upgraded signals and a reconfiguration of alignments at Union Hill junction. Either end of the site completely new signalised junctions were constructed. With the heavy traffic flows main contractor Cormac and our site team had little choice but to program the bulk of this work at night.
The site based Kemp team provided all setting out, earthworks measurement and as built surveys during the 18 month project. GPS was employed extensively for the earthworks setting out whilst a UAV survey drone collected data for the earthworks modeling.
Construction on the site continues with Midas now well into the construction of the new Waitrose supermarket, a scheme which again Kemp have provided the initial setting out for along with as built checks on the steel frame.
